REGARDING STEWARDSHIP DURING TIME OF MEDICAL CRISIS

REGARDING STEWARDSHIP DURING TIME OF MEDICAL CRISIS

As you have all seen by now, the Catholic Bishops of Ohio have put into effect what is essentially a quarantine procedure disallowing any public Masses or ceremonies in our churches until after Easter.  If you have listened to my stewardship or budgetary talks in the past, you know that Sunday collection revenues constitute about half of the total revenue base necessary to operate the parish and the school.   Tuition only pays a part of the total cost of operating the school.

As the quarantine continues, the parish is still obligated by the civil authorities to pay salaries, hourly pay, and benefits for all employees; even though many are working from home or working less hours.  Salaries, wages, and benefits are approximately eighty (80%) percent of the annual costs of operating a parish and school.   If St. Ann were to see a significant and ongoing decline in Sunday giving, the impact on operational activities and staffing would in all likelihood be significant.

Therefore, even though I am very aware that many St. Ann families are experiencing commensurate declines in revenue stream, I want to encourage you to keep St. Ann as one of your charitable priorities.  Even though the old adage “out of sight, out of mind” is very applicable while quarantine rules prohibit our gathering to worship together, please consider making your contribution using the “on line” option hereafter defined.  In following this charitable discipline, “out of sight, out of mind” won’t mean “out of money.”

You may also mail in your payments to St. Ann Church, 646 Clinton Ave, Hamilton, Ohio 45015. We appreciate your kindness to our parish!

Until further notice, the parish office hours will be Monday-Friday 8am-11am.
