Thanksgiving is Ten Days Away

This will also appear in next week’s bulletin, but there is Mass on Thanksgiving eve at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart; Thanksgiving Day Mass at 7:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart; and  9:00 a.m. at St. Ann.

Reflection on Scripture

“You will be hated by all because of my name.”  Jesus warns us that persecution comes with adhering to the truth.  Evil requires accommodation and compromise.  Refusal to give in to, or cooperate with, evil at least to some degree is an act of defiant faith in God which evil finds abhorrent.  Evil will encourage you to put your faith in anything but God.  Jesus Christ will direct you to put your faith in him and only him.

Our faith is like a mirror.  If we look to Christ in faith, we will reflect his goodness into the world.  If we put our faith in anything or anyone else other than Jesus, we reflect the hollowness and emptiness of all the allurements of this world.

Next Weekend: Feast of Christ the King

2 Sm 5:1-3

Col 1:12-20

Luke 23:35-43
